The Madras High Court has abolished the system of grading for teacher

Chennai : the Madras High Court has quashed the system “Weightage” for marks  was brought in to provide a rating of "grade"

Secondary and graduate teachers, are selected by the education board on the eligible candidate. In this exam the candidate Must obtain at least 60 per cent of the total of 100 marks. The remaining 40 percent is determined by the qualification. If applied for secondary teaching, for the plus 2 exam Weightage of 15 and College diploma score of 25 points is given.

If graduate teaching, plus 2 exam Weightage is  10; Graduation 15; B. Ed the score is set at 15. In this case. The "grade" option has  sparked protest among candidates. That is if the candidate has scored 90% or more then the score is 15. If he has scored  80-90% then the score is 12, scored  70-80% then the score is 9 and if he has scored below 60 then the score is 6.

Similarly, there is a grading system for a diploma course, Last February, the School of Education, issued an order. In addition to those in the reservation section, teacher qualification exam score was added to 5 percent. This means that those who score 55 percent in the reservation section can pass the exam.

Subsequently, the Weightage score option was opposed petitions were filed in the Madras High Court.

Hearing the case, Judge Nakamuttu 's order Passing score as many as 5 percent to loosen the sides and considering the request, the policy decision of the Government responded.  So it does not mean that the government did not consider the case we can say that The exam is just to improve the teachers score and it is not the decision to Competitive exam.

For group reservation, the Government has decided to reduce the percentage passing score. The case was filed challenging the authority of the state. So score dropped to 5 percent. The Govt will not accept the Mark relaxed for the TET exam held in 2012. If it is accepted then those who have already been appointed will be affected.
