The sale of application for B.F.Sc Begun
Tuticorin: The sale of application for three courses, Bachelor of Veterinary Science (B.V.Sc.), Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.) and Bachelor of Food Processing Technology (B.Tech.) offered by Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University for the academic year 2009-10 commenced on Monday.
The fee for application form is Rs.250 for SC/ST students and Rs.500 for others. Application forms can be obtained from the Fisheries College and Research Institute, Tuticorin, either in person or through post by sending a Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Finance Officer, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chennai-51 along with a self addressed stamped (Rs.40) envelope.
The filled in applications should reach the Chairman, Admission Committee (UG), Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai-51, before June 15.
Students who aspire to join the courses can receive the applications from the Dean, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Tuticorin, till June 15.
V.K. Venkataramani, Dean, told on Monday that a total of 35 seats would be offered for the bachelor programme in Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.) to be conducted at the FCRI here. Of the 35 seats, one each would be reserved for children of freedom fighter, physically challenged and children of ex-servicemen, two each for sports quota and candidates studied under vocational stream. Five for candidates selected by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, through an All India Entrance Examination.
The admission to remaining seats would be based on the reservation norms set by the State government. For details about qualifying marks for admission for students belonging to SC/ST, Most Backward Classes, Backward Classes, Backward Classes Muslims, Denotified communities and General Category, candidates should contact the FCRI office either in person or at telephone numbers: 0461-2340154 / 2340554.
The sale of application at Fisheries College and Research Institute, Tuticorin, was inaugurated by Dr. Venkataramani and the first application was received by G. Rajeswaran, a student from Aruppukottai.
